MIAMI, Florida – Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and into the evening on Monday, June 10, 2024, across South Florida, Central Florida, the Florida panhandle, and the North Florida peninsula, according to the National Weather Service Hazardous Weather Outlook.
Stronger storms will be capable of gusty winds of 50 mph, frequent cloud to ground lightning, and torrential downpours that can cause localized flash flooding and ponding on roadways.
The greatest chance for strong thunderstorms is in Central Florida.
Monday is the beginning of a deluge of heavy rain this week across Florida, with the heaviest rainfall amounts accumulating in Southwest Florida and South Florida.
Temperatures will reach the low 90s in most areas with heat indices reaching triple digits.
