TAMPA, FL – A 29-year-old Tampa man, Arvin Solimanpoor, was arrested early on March 12, 2025, following a chaotic incident involving arson and gunfire at the Pink Pony Showgirls strip club located at 5215 N. Lois Avenue.
The episode began just before 5:00 a.m. when the Florida man allegedly entered the unoccupied building and deliberately set it ablaze. According to a witness, he also fired a handgun multiple times inside. Tampa Police arrived quickly, catching Solimanpoor in the act of dragging brush into the burning structure. Officers recovered a handgun from him and took him into custody for questioning at the Tampa Police District One office.
At 4:55 a.m., Tampa Fire Rescue responded to the scene, where heavy smoke and flames were billowing through the building’s roof. The fire’s intensity prompted a second alarm, calling in more firefighters and resources. After a thorough search confirmed no one was inside, one firefighter sustained minor injuries, received treatment at a local hospital, and was later released.
While detained, Solimanpoor requested water and was provided a bottle. He then allegedly damaged a camera in the holding area, urinated into the empty bottle, and threw its contents onto a police officer, according to Tampa Police.
Solimanpoor now faces charges including Arson with Injury, Shooting at, within, or into a Building, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, and Felony Criminal Mischief. He was subsequently booked into Orient Road Jail.
