High temperatures today will range from the upper 80s to lower 90s across the region (Chiefland near 91°F; Crystal River near 89°F; Brooksville near 92°F; Tampa near 91°F; Lakeland near 92°F; Sarasota near 91°F; Sebring near 90°F; Arcadia near 93°F; Fort Myers near 93°F).

Rain chances are generally 40–70% across the area today, with the highest chances over interior and southern sections (Chiefland near 40%; Crystal River near 50%; Brooksville near 70%; Tampa near 60%; Lakeland near 70%; Sarasota near 50%; Sebring near 50%; Arcadia near 70%; Fort Myers near 60%).
A moist environment will allow scattered to numerous showers and storms to develop across the area again today, mainly in the afternoon and evening hours. Drier conditions will return during the work week, limiting rain coverage each day.
Some of the stronger storms could contain gusty winds up to 50 mph and frequent lightning. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible which could cause flooding of urban, low lying, and poor drainage areas. There is a marginal risk of these storms producing flooding in a few spots today.
High temperatures will climb into the upper 80s to lower 90s with heat indices as high as 100–101 degrees.
