MIAMI, Florida – The National Weather Service in Miami forecasts scattered showers and thunderstorms developing this afternoon, favoring inland and northern South Florida. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected today.
Any stronger cells may produce gusty winds, heavy downpours, localized flooding in poor drainage areas, frequent lightning, and small hail. Frequent lightning will be the primary hazard where storms develop.
Rain chances (Monday, July 20, 2026): Slight chance overall, with the best chances across northern and interior areas this afternoon.
High temperatures will rise into the low to mid 90s across most of South Florida. Peak Heat Index Values will range from 102°F to 110°F this afternoon, with the highest readings across urban areas.
A Heat Advisory is in effect for Miami-Dade and Broward counties from 11 AM until 7 PM EDT today as heat index values are expected to reach 104–110°F in metro areas.
