JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The National Weather Service in Jacksonville is highlighting an Isolated Severe Thunderstorm risk this afternoon into early evening across parts of northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. The National Weather Service in Jacksonville forecasts isolated strong to severe thunderstorms mainly along the I-95 corridor and across parts of southeast Georgia from 2 to 8 p.m. today. The primary threat is damaging wind gusts of 35-45 mph from downbursts. Other hazards include frequent lightning, locally heavy downpours, and small hail. According to NWS Jacksonville, stronger storms may develop within the risk area, with isolated strong-to-severe thunderstorms possible across the shaded region.
