, Florida – The National Weather Service in Melbourne forecasts a mix of sun and clouds giving way to increasing storm chances this afternoon and evening (approximately noon to 9 PM) for east on Monday, June 1, 2026.

.The highest coverage of storms is expected near the coast and across the Orlando and Daytona areas as the sea breeze interacts with daytime heating.

The NWS warns of the following hazards during the peak storm hours this afternoon and evening on Monday:

  • Frequent lightning strikes
  • Gusty winds 40-50 mph in the strongest storms (up to 55-60 mph possible in isolated cases)
  • Locally heavy downpours that could lead to localized flooding

A MODERATE Rip Current Risk is in effect today for ALL Atlantic beaches in Volusia, Space, and Treasure Coasts. Rip currents are likely with 2-3 ft surf. Swim near a lifeguard and follow beach safety instructions.
