MIAMI, Florida – The National Weather Service in Miami is forecasting scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across portions of South Florida on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
According to the latest South Florida Rain Chances map, probability of precipitation is highest across southwest Florida: 62% Immokalee, 57% Palmdale, 37% Clewiston, 35% Everglades City, 30% Naples, 19% Flamingo, and lower along the east coast with 17% Fort Lauderdale, 15% Miami, 14% Homestead, 12% West Palm Beach.
Dangerously high heat indices are forecast this afternoon across much of South Florida. Values will peak as high as 108°F in Naples, 105°F in Everglades City, 103°F in Immokalee, 102°F in La Belle and Buckhead Ridge, 100°F in Miami, 99°F in West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Homestead, Belle Glade, and Flamingo. Residents should take extra precautions against heat-related illnesses.
Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.
