TAMPA, Fla. — A 33-year-old Florida woman is in custody after allegedly stealing a Red Bull box truck from a gas station in Tampa and leading law enforcement on a pursuit that stretched across multiple counties, authorities said Friday.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), deputies responded to a gas station on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard where the truck was making a delivery.
The suspect, identified as Nicole Schular of Tampa, drove off in the vehicle and headed east on Interstate 4 toward Lakeland.
HCSO’s Aviation Unit tracked the stolen truck from the air as it traveled into Polk County.
With assistance from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Lakeland Police Department, deputies were able to apprehend Schular.
She is now facing charges of grand theft auto.
