Afternoon and Evening Cold Weather Risks According to NWS Jacksonville, strong winds and isolated wintry mix are possible during the afternoon and evening on Saturday, with extreme cold overnight. Wintry mix coverage on Saturday should be greatest between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. in southeast Georgia counties north of the Florida border. Conditions will be capable of producing: Damaging winds (40-50 mph gusts), capable of impacting structures, trees, and potentially causing power outages. Isolated snow flurries cannot be ruled out, especially in southeast Georgia. Light snow accumulation, under 0.5 inches in affected areas, which may lead to slick spots on roads. Dangerous wind chills in the single digits to teens, which may be harmful to people and pets who remain outside.
