Nearby St. Augustine also set a new record at 35°F, beating the prior 40°F. Pensacola dipped to 31°F, breaking its previous low of 33°F, while Panama City experienced a biting 28°F, noted as record cold by The Weather Channel. Moving to Central Florida, Orlando recorded a low of 36°F, eclipsing the previous record of 39°F. Tampa Bay made headlines by breaking a 133-year-old record, hitting 39°F and topping the 1892 mark of 40°F. Sarasota reached 40°F, just below its old record of 41°F, and Melbourne dropped to 38°F, bettering 42°F.
