Thunderstorms For Central Florida

ORLANDO, Florida – The National Weather Service Melbourne has issued a forecast for Central Florida on Sunday, October 26, 2025, of increasing rain and storm chances from south to north, with locally heavy rain possible.

Most areas will receive 1 inch or less of rainfall through Monday, though up to 4 inches is possible in portions near the east coast. East winds are expected, contributing to building seas and hazardous conditions.

Thunderstorms are capable of occasional lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall which could lead to minor flooding.

Central Florida Extended Weather Forecast

Rain chances will increase today due to a frontal boundary lifting north, with locally heavy rainfall possible. A high risk of rip currents at the beaches is in effect through Monday, with hazardous boating conditions continuing due to east winds and building seas.

Major Hurricane Melissa is forecast to move slowly westward across the central Caribbean Sea today, then turn north and northeast Monday and Tuesday, with no direct impacts expected for Florida.

Above normal temperatures with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s continue, resulting in peak afternoon heat indices up to around 100-105 degrees today.
