MIAMI, FL — The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a forecast of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms across South Florida today, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, with rain chances favoring the east coast metro areas amid near-normal temperatures.
Numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop across most of South Florida this afternoon into this evening. Periods of heavy downpours with high rainfall rates could lead to localized flooding especially across the east coast metro areas. In general, 1-2 inches of rain is anticipated this afternoon, however, there is a 1 in 10 chance of 3-4+ inches where multiple rounds of heavy downpours occur.
Temperatures will reach 90 to 94°F, with high humidity amplifying heat indices over 100°F, potentially approaching 108°F.
Rainfall chances today are moderate to high, with Palmdale at 79%, Clewiston at 81%, West Palm Beach at 76%, Immokalee at 80%, Naples at 71%, Everglades City at 71%, Fort Lauderdale at 75%, Miami at 70%, Homestead at 69%, and Flamingo at 54%, according to the NWS forecast. These probabilities show scattered to numerous shower and thunderstorm activity across South Florida, with potential for localized heavy rainfall.
