, Florida – The National Weather Service Melbourne has issued a forecast for on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, of scattered showers and storms from late morning through the afternoon and early evening, with a 40-70% chance of precipitation. Winds from the east at 5-10 mph are expected, with gusts up to 40-50 mph possible in storms.

Rain chances will remain elevated through Thursday, around 40-60%, decreasing slightly by Friday to around 40%, while temperatures will remain near or slightly above normal. A high risk of rip currents at the northern beaches is in effect today, with moderate risk south of the Cape, lingering swells causing rough surf of around 2-3 feet and hazardous boating conditions today. Small craft should exercise caution across the Volusia and offshore Brevard Atlantic waters, with seas 3 to 5 feet, up to 6 feet offshore.

Near normal temperatures with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s continue, resulting in peak afternoon heat indices up to around 95-102 degrees today.

There are currently no active tropical cyclones in the Atlantic basin. The National Center is monitoring one tropical disturbance in the eastern tropical Atlantic with a high (70%) chance of development over the next 7 days. It is too early to determine any potential impacts to Florida. Coastal impacts from lingering swells, including high rip current risk at northern beaches, rough surf up to 3 feet, minor beach erosion, and hazardous boating conditions will continue today.
