JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a forecast for North Florida predicting continued waves of heavy rain and thunderstorms through Wednesday, September 10, 2025, with risks of localized flash flooding and minor coastal flooding, especially along the I-95 corridor and beaches. There is a marginal risk of flash flooding, with potential disruptions to commutes along the I-95 corridor. Minor coastal flooding during high tides is expected through mid-week. No active severe weather watches or warnings at this time, but special weather statements have been issued for heavy rain in coastal areas. Breezy northeast winds with gusts up to 26 mph today. Storms will continue to develop, with heavy downpours expected, bringing isolated flood risk through Wednesday. Storms will be capable of producing: Heavy downpours, which may lead to localized flooding, mainly in urban areas. Wind gusts up to 26 mph. Frequent lightning. The greatest risk for heavy rainfall and flooding is along the coast and I-95 corridor, with additional rainfall of 1-2 inches or more possible through Wednesday.
