ORLANDO, Florida – The National Weather Service Melbourne has issued a forecast for Central Florida on Saturday, August 23, 2025, of scattered to numerous thunderstorms from late morning through the afternoon, with a 70-80% chance of precipitation. Winds from the west at 5 to 10 mph are expected, with gusts up to 35-45 mph possible in storms. However, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring multiple tropical disturbances, including a tropical wave north of the Leeward Islands with a 90% chance of development over the next seven days, expected to remain over the open Atlantic, and another wave with a 20% chance approaching the Windward Islands. No imminent threats to East Central Florida. Coastal impacts from lingering swells, including high rip current risk, rough surf up to 3-4 feet, minor beach erosion, and hazardous boating conditions will continue through the weekend.
