ORLANDO, Florida – The National Weather Service Melbourne has issued a forecast for Central Florida on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, of lower rain chances around 30-40% along the coast where the first few storms form in the afternoon, and the highest chances around 60% across the interior where all the boundaries and sea breezes come together. Stronger storms will be capable of frequent lightning, gusty winds of 45 to 55 mph, and heavy rainfall which could lead to minor flooding. An isolated severe storm or two with winds to 60 mph cannot be ruled out, and with so many boundary interactions, there is a very low potential for a brief tornado. Above normal temperatures with highs in the low to mid 90s continue, resulting in peak afternoon heat indices of 103 to 107 degrees, and a few hotter spots could reach 109 degrees.
