JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a forecast for North Florida predicting rounds of downpours and thunderstorms continuing through Sunday, with a risk of strong to isolated severe storms possible later this afternoon and evening on Friday, August 29, 2025, especially along and south of Interstate 10.

Continued daily rounds of heavy rainfall on saturated ground may bring a localized flood risk, especially at urban and normally flood-prone locations. Onshore winds will become breezy this afternoon, creating a moderate rip current risk at area beaches, increasing to high from Sunday through Tuesday.
