BAY, Florida – The (NWS) Tampa Bay has issued a forecast for west and Southwest Florida on Thursday, August 28, 2025, forecasting scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon into evening with highs ranging from the low to mid 90s across the region. Increased moisture will result in higher storm chances, and due to light winds aloft, storm motion will be slow, potentially leading to some localized flooding. Rain chances vary from 40% in coastal areas like Tampa and to 70% in interior areas like Sebring.

The forecast covers areas such as Tampa, , Sarasota, and Fort Myers.
