National Weather Service Jacksonville rain and temperature forecast for North Florida
JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a forecast for North Florida predicting numerous showers and thunderstorms with a potential for isolated strong storms and locally heavy rainfall on Saturday, August 16, 2025, along with a Heat Advisory, with increased thunderstorm risks through Sunday.
According to NWS Jacksonville, thunderstorms will develop this afternoon with isolated stronger storms as a front moves south into the area, allowing storms to continue later across southeast Georgia.
Stronger thunderstorms could develop later during peak heating, potentially leading to locally heavy rainfall and localized flooding, especially in coastal southeast Georgia on Sunday.
General storm activity is expected from 1 PM to 11 PM, with strong storms possible from 3 PM to 10 PM (thunderstorms continue over Southeast Georgia until midnight). On Sunday, showers and thunderstorms will be more widespread.
