Coffee Recalled For Glass Fragments In 48 States, Including Florida

ORLANDO, Florida – Dollar General Corporation has issued a voluntary recall for three specific lots of its 8-ounce Clover Valley Instant Coffee after a customer reported the potential presence of glass fragments in the product.

The recall affects the following lots of the coffee, which bears the UPC code 876941004069:

  • Lot L-5163, with a best-by date of December 13, 2026
  • Lot L-5164, with a best-by date of December 13, 2026
  • Lot L-5165, with a best-by date of December 14, 2026

Consumers can identify the affected products by checking the lot number and best-by date printed around the neck of the jar.

The recalled 8-ounce Clover Valley Instant Coffee product from Dollar General, potentially contaminated with glass fragments.

The recalled coffee was sold exclusively at Dollar General stores between July 9 and July 21, 2025, in 44 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

The issue came to light when a customer alerted Dollar General staff about the possible contamination. Ingesting glass fragments could lead to serious health risks, including damage to teeth, cuts in the mouth or throat, or even intestinal perforation. As of now, no illnesses or injuries related to the product have been reported.

Dollar General is urging customers who purchased the affected coffee to discard it immediately and contact the company for a full refund, including any applicable taxes. Refunds can be requested by emailing customercare@dollargeneral.com or calling 1-888-309-9030 between 6 a.m. and 1 a.m. CST, seven days a week.

The company stated it is actively investigating the source of the glass contamination and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to customers. The recall is being conducted in coordination with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
