PANAMA CITY BEACH, Florida – The Florida Lottery announced that James Strickland, of Tallahassee, claimed the $1.5 million FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot from the March 15, 2025, drawing at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee on April 2.

The Leon County man chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $823,801.00.

Strickland purchased his jackpot-winning FLORIDA LOTTO ticket from PCB Mobil, located at 2905 Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach.

The retailer received a bonus commission of $25,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The odds of winning the Florida Lotto jackpot are 1 in 22,957,480. The game’s overall odds are 1 in 7.61.

25% of all Florida Lottery proceeds goes to K-12 education and Bright Futures scholarships, according to the Florida Lottery.

67% goes to prize payouts. The remaining 8% goes to retailers, vending, and administration.
