Severe Thunderstorms, Gusty Winds For North Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe weather outlook for North Florida, due to the risk of severe thunderstorms across North Florida on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday June 8-10, 2025.

According to NWS Jacksonville, the severe storm risk will increase into this weekend mainly for areas north of I-10, with stronger storms developing in the afternoon and evening timeframe.

Stronger storms will be capable of producing:

• Damaging winds (40-60 mph), capable of impacting structures and trees.
• Heavy downpours, which may lead to localized flooding in areas already saturated from recent rainfall.
• Hail is possible with stronger storms.
• Frequent lightning strikes, which may be fatal to people and pets who remain outside.

North Florida cities at risk for severe thunderstorms include:

• Jacksonville
• Jacksonville Beach
• Saint Augustine
• Live Oak
• Lake City
