ORLANDO, Florida – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Weather Outlook for East Central Florida on Friday, June 27, 2025. The NWS warns of the following hazards during the peak storm hours: Strong to locally damaging winds with gusts of up to 60 mph Small hail up to quarter-sized A brief tornado on boundary collisions Frequent lightning strikes that are deadly to people and pets who remain outside Locally heavy rainfall that could lead to localized minor flooding According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, the timing of the strongest storms will occur from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. [caption id="attachment_8295" align="aligncenter" width="1920"] National Weather Service Melbourne Severe Weather Outlook for Central Florida Friday, June 27, 2025.[/caption] Central Florida cities at risk for severe thunderstorms include: Orlando Daytona Beach Sanford Kissimmee Winter Park DeLand Vero Beach Fort Pierce Orlando Weather Forecast [caption id="attachment_8297" align="aligncenter" width="1920"] National Weather Service Extended Weather Forecast for Central Florida[/caption] High daily rain and storm chances, 60% to 70%, are expected every day through Tuesday as the sea breeze collision shifts to the eastern side of the peninsula and deep moisture settles over East Central Florida. Temperatures will stay warm with afternoon highs in the low 90s. Primary hazards are lightning storms, rip currents, and heat.
