Severe Thunderstorms, Hail, Tornado Risk For South Florida

MIAMI, Florida – The National Weather Service in Miami issued a severe weather forecast due to a risk of isolated strong to severe storms on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 12 PM to 8 PM EDT over the eastern two-thirds of South Florida.

According to NWS Miami, the primary hazards are isolated severe wind gusts and marginally severe  hail, with an isolated tornado and localized flooding also possible.

The thunderstorms and cloud coverage on Friday will bring some relief to the excessive heat South Florida has been experiencing this week. But heat index values will return to triple digits on Saturday
