Severe Thunderstorm, Hail Risk For South Florida

MIAMI, Florida – The National Weather Service in Miami issued a severe weather forecast due to a risk of isolated strong to severe thunderstorms on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 1 PM to 9 PM EDT across South Florida.

According to NWS Miami, the primary hazards are isolated strong to severe wind gusts, severe hail, and frequent lightning.

While all of South Florida is in a marginal risk, the highest chances for intense thunderstorms will be across interior locations (inland Southwest Florida and Lake Okeechobee region).

The thunderstorms and cloud coverage on Sunday will bring some relief to the excessive heat South Florida has been experiencing this week.
