Severe Thunderstorm, Strong Winds, Large Hail Risk For Central Florida

ORLANDO, Florida – Central Florida braces for a stormy afternoon and evening on Saturday, May 10, 2025, with severe weather threats, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

Severe Weather Outlook

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe storm Outlook for May 10, 2025:

• Level 1 (Marginal Risk): Across most of Central Florida from Daytona to Orlando to Tampa.
• Potential Hazards: Gusty winds (45-55 mph), hail up to 1 inch in diameter, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall.

Storms are beginning to develop southwest of Orlando this afternoon and will move over the interior of Central Florida during the next several hours.

The interior of Central Florida faces the highest risk of strong to severe storms, with peak intensity expected between 2 PM and 6 PM.
