Severe Thunderstorm, Hail, Tornado Risk For South Florida

MIAMI, Florida – The National Weather Service in Miami issued a severe weather forecast due to a risk of isolated strong to severe storms on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 2 PM to 10 PM EDT over the eastern half of South Florida.

According to NWS Miami, the primary hazards are severe wind gusts and severe  hail, with an isolated tornado and localized flooding also possible.

The thunderstorms and cloud coverage and associated cold front on Thursday will bring some relief to the excessive heat South Florida has been experiencing this week.
