DELRAY BEACH, Florida — A local business owner has been arrested for allegedly selling counterfeit designer merchandise following a tip to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO).
Ronald Axelrod, the operator of Ronnie’s Shoes in Delray Beach, was charged with selling or offering to sell counterfeit goods after a months-long investigation.
The PBSO launched their investigation after receiving an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers about the sale of counterfeit merchandise at Ronnie’s Shoes, a store known for selling women’s shoes, handbags, and accessories since at least 2020.
Detectives executed search warrants at both the business location in Delray Beach and Axelrod’s residence, uncovering approximately $200,000 worth of counterfeit luxury goods.
The seized items included handbags bearing logos of high-end brands such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton, alongside $2,000 in U.S. currency.
Images released on X by the PBSO show racks and shelves filled with the counterfeit merchandise, including quilted Chanel bags, Louis Vuitton totes, and other designer accessories.
