Igloo Expands Recall of 90-Qt Rolling Coolers To 1.2M

Igloo Products Corp. has expanded its recall of approximately 1.2 million 90-quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers due to serious safety risks, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on May 8, 2025. The coolers’ tow handle can pinch consumers’ fingertips, posing hazards of fingertip amputation and crushing injuries.

This recall expansion adds 130,000 coolers to the more than one million units previously recalled in February 2025, affecting products sold in the U.S., Canada (20,000 units), and Mexico (5,900 units). The CPSC reported 78 incidents since the initial , including 26 cases of fingertip amputations, bone fractures, or lacerations caused by the tow handle pinching fingers against the cooler.

The recalled coolers, manufactured in the United States by Igloo Products Corp. of Katy, Texas, were sold at , Target, Academy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and online at .com, Igloocoolers.com, and other websites from January 2019 through January 2025, priced between $80 and $140. Affected models include:

  • Model 34692: Latitude 90 Qt. Roller (Ash Gray Body, Aegean Sea Lid, Black Tow Handle), manufactured July 2020–September 2021.
  • Model 34785: Latitude 90 Qt. Roller (White Body and Lid), manufactured October 2021–December 2022.
  • Model 34790: Maxcold Latitude 90 Qt. Roller (Ash Gray Body, Aegean Sea Lid, White Tow Handle), manufactured October 2021–February 2023.

Consumers can identify the recalled coolers by checking the model number on a label affixed to the bottom of the cooler and the manufacturing date code, imprinted on the bottom in a circular pattern with an arrow pointing to the month and the last two digits of the year. Only coolers manufactured before January 2024 are included in this recall.
