On May 9, 2025, the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Ford Motor Company is recalling 273,789 of its 2022-2024 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles due to a potential brake fluid leak that could result in a loss of brake function, increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall, identified by NHTSA Campaign Number 25V314000 and Ford’s number 25S47, involves front brake lines that may contact the engine air cleaner outlet pipe, potentially causing damage and a brake fluid leak. This issue affects the hydraulic service brakes and could impair front brake performance.

Ford dealers will inspect the front brake lines and replace the brake line or air cleaner outlet pipe as necessary, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on May 26, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 for more information or reach the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY: 888-275-9171) or visit nhtsa.gov.
