Miami Beach, FL – A dramatic rescue unfolded on Saturday evening, May 3, 2025, when a 63-foot luxury yacht began taking on water near Monument Island in Biscayne Bay, leaving 32 passengers stranded.
The U.S. Coast Guard Station Miami Beach, alongside multiple partner agencies, swiftly responded to the emergency, ensuring all aboard were safely evacuated with no injuries reported.
The vessel, identified as a Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63—a $4 million limited-edition yacht designed in collaboration with Lamborghini and The Italian Sea Group—was reportedly carrying double its intended capacity of 16 people.
The Coast Guard received the distress call around 5 p.m. and coordinated with Miami Beach Police Marine Patrol, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and local Good Samaritan boat operators to execute the rescue. Passengers, many wearing life vests, were evacuated to safety, with some transferred to a nearby Good Samaritan vessel and others brought to Miami Beach Marina at 300 Alton Road. Miami Beach Fire Rescue assessed all individuals on-site, confirming no injuries. CBS News Miami reported.
Images from the scene captured the yacht’s nose jutting out of the water as passengers stood on the tilted deck, some taking selfies amid the chaos.
