Walmart Celery Recall In 30 States, Including Florida

Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Inc. has issued a voluntary advisory for 1,587 cases of its Marketside Celery Sticks, specifically 4-count, 1.6-ounce bundle packs with a “Best If Used By” date of March 23, 2025, due to potential contamination with monocytogenes,according to the Food and Drug Administration.

The affected product is past its expiration date and no longer available for purchase. However, the company warns that consumers may have frozen the celery sticks for later use.

The celery was distributed to select stores in the following 30 states:
Alabama, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Wyoming.

The product can be identified by the UPC code 6 81131 16151 0 and Lot Code P047650 printed on the packaging.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, elderly individuals, and those with compromised immune systems. For pregnant women, it poses risks of miscarriages and stillbirths. Symptoms in healthy individuals may include fever, headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this product to date.

Consumers who have the affected celery sticks, including those stored in freezers, are urged to discard them immediately and not consume them.
