St. Petersburg Man Kills Girlfriend and Her Mother

, Fla. — The Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double homicide after two women were found dead in their home on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Kirk Hysell Jr., has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Deputies from the Patrol Operations Bureau responded to a 911 call at approximately 10:14 a.m. at 5252 108th Street North in unincorporated St. Petersburg.

Upon arrival, they discovered 34-year-old Christina Donzero deceased in a bedroom, suffering from multiple stab wounds.

A second victim, 75-year-old Betti “Suzanne” Thevenet Donzero, was found in the garage with several stab wounds.

Both women were pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies located Hysell in the bathroom of the residence, where he was suffering from multiple self-inflicted injuries. He was transported to a hospital for treatment and remains there pending transfer to the Pinellas County Jail.

According to detectives, Hysell confessed to his daughter that he had killed his girlfriend, Christina Donzero, and her mother, Betti “Suzanne” Thevenet Donzero, causing her to contact 911.

Detectives report that Hysell admitted to the murders and revealed he had initially planned to kill the entire family.

He also allegedly stated that he intended to kill other family members and would “do it again” if released.

The victims and suspect all resided at the same address.

Next of kin have been notified, and the investigation remains ongoing.
