Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Madison County, Florida
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The National Weather Service in Tallahassee issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for north central Madison County in Big Bend Florida at 5:12 PM EDT on April 28, 2025, effective until 6:00 PM EDT.
A severe thunderstorm, located 8 miles north of Madison and moving southwest at 5 mph, poses significant hazards, including wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail.
Radar indicates potential for hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Torrential rainfall accompanying the storm may also cause flash flooding.
Affected areas include Pinetta, Cherry Lake, and Hamburg. Residents are urged to seek shelter immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid driving through flooded roadways.
