JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe weather outlook for North Florida and Southern Georgia due to the potential for isolated strong to severe thunderstorms that are expected to impact the region late this afternoon and through the evening hours, mainly north of I-10 on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
For Northeast Florida, the National Weather Service in Jacksonville advises residents to prepare for hazardous weather conditions, including damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, small hail, locally heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning.
For Florida’s Big Bend and Panhandle, the National Weather Service in Tallahassee advises residents to prepare for hazardous weather conditions, including isolated damaging wind gusts and small to medium sized hail around the I-75 corridor.
The Storm Prediction Center has rated this severe thunderstorm risk as marginal (dark green shaded area), but North Florida residents should remain vigilant due to the potential for localized impacts.
