OCALA, Florida – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe weather outlook for North Florida due to the potential for scattered strong thunderstorms that are expected to impact the region late this afternoon and through the evening hours on Monday, April 28, 2025.
For North Florida, the National Weather Service in Jacksonville forecasts that showers and storms will move southward from Georgia into North Florida later today.
A few strong storms will be possible across inland North Florida later this afternoon with the potential for locally heavy downpours, gusty winds, small hail, and frequent lightning.
Over the Florida Panhandle, more widespread showers and storms are forecast today, especially across the Big Bend and south-central Georgia.
The greatest chance for showers and thunderstorms will be along the eastern portions of the I-10 corridor, according to the National Weather Service Tallahassee.
