TALLAHASSEE, Florida – After a 22-month investigation, the Tallahassee Police Department has arrested 36-year-old Andrew Wiley on charges of second-degree murder in connection with the disappearance of his 12-year-old daughter, Lori Paige, in June 2023.
Lori was reported missing by Wiley on June 3, 2023, who claimed she left home overnight with her backpack while he was at work.
Over the course of the investigation, TPD detectives pursued hundreds of leads, conducted interviews across multiple states, analyzed digital evidence, and searched extensively in North Florida and South Georgia.
Key developments shifted the investigation’s focus to Wiley. In February 2024, a forensic analysis of a phone seized from Wiley’s residence revealed suspicious internet searches about remote areas with bodies of water in Alabama and Georgia.
By March 2024, inconsistencies in Wiley’s statements and new details about his relationship with Lori intensified scrutiny on him.
Detectives began searching a remote area in Thomas County, Georgia, known locally as a plantation, based on digital evidence. Initial searches in early 2024 were unsuccessful.
However, on April 5, 2025, after a prescribed burn cleared heavy brush, a renewed search uncovered human remains.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement later confirmed the remains were Lori Paige’s.
“This case has deeply impacted our community for nearly two years,” said TPD Chief Lawrence Revell. “Lori deserved a safe home and a full life. While today’s arrest will never bring her back, it does bring us one step closer to justice.”
