AUBURNDALE, Florida — A 41-year-old Auburndale woman, Christdon Reese, was arrested on April 11, 2025, for attempted first-degree murder, trespassing, and violation of probation after allegedly striking another woman with her car.
The incident reportedly occurred on April 10, when Reese allegedly saw the victim walking with her estranged husband near Old Dixie Hwy.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the victim and Reese’s estranged husband had just left a Circle K convenience store located at 4950 U.S. Hwy 92 East when Reese allegedly drove by in her white Volkswagen Jetta.
After making a U-turn in a nearby Family Dollar parking lot, Reese reportedly accelerated toward the pair. The victim fled down a driveway, but Reese allegedly pursued, hitting her with the car before speeding away north on Old Dixie Hwy.
Surveillance footage from the Circle K captured the U-turn.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital by Polk County Fire Rescue, where X-rays revealed two spinal fractures. She is expected to recover.
Deputies also learned Reese allegedly entered private property during the chase without permission, leading to a trespassing charge.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd condemned the alleged attack, stating, “Domestic-related calls are some of the worst we respond to. When emotions take over, it can lead to injury or death. Christdon Reese needs to learn to control her temper, and maybe some time in jail will help.”
Reese, who has been on probation for a 2023 retail theft charge in Osceola County, faces additional charges for violating probation. The Florida woman was taken into custody and booked into the Polk County Jail.
