PANAMA CITY BEACH, Florida – A Florida woman allegedly posed as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in order to Kidnap her ex-boyfriend’s wife on April 10, 2025, according to the Miami Herald.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to a suspicious incident at Bridge Plaza Apartments after a victim reported being kidnapped by Latrance Battle, who allegedly posed as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent, BCSO stated on their Facebook page.
According to the victim, Battle approached her at her workplace wearing a black shirt with “ICE” printed on it, presented a Sheriff’s Office business card, and carried a hand-held radio to support her false identity.
Battle told the victim, who is in the process of becoming a legal U.S. resident, that she had to come with her. Fearing repercussions, the victim complied and entered Battle’s vehicle.
While en route, the Florida woman reportedly snatched the victim’s phone as she attempted to contact her lawyer and husband.
Upon arriving at Bridge Plaza Apartments—despite Battle claiming they were heading to the Sheriff’s Office—the victim grew suspicious. When Battle entered the apartment, the victim fled and contacted authorities.
BCSO later apprehended Battle in Fountain as she attempted to flee to Alabama.
The Florida woman now faces charges of Kidnapping in Commission of a Felony, Robbery by Sudden Snatching, Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer in Commission of a Felony, and Felony Violation of Probation.
