OCALA, FL – A doctor was arrested for battery following allegations of inappropriately touching his patient, according to the Ocala Police Department.
The incident was reported on March 24 at the Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida, located at 2105 SW 20th Place.
Ocala Police responded to a report of a battery involving a medical professional and a patient. The victim, a woman in her 50s, alleged that her doctor, Jose Jacob, 65, touched her inappropriately during an appointment.
She stated that Jacob asked inappropriate personal questions and, after the examination, hugged her closely and kissed her twice without her consent.
Police interviewed several individuals at the scene, including Dr. Jacob, who denied the allegations but later gave conflicting statements.
The investigation revealed prior allegations of inappropriate conduct by Jacob at this location and another in North Carolina.
A warrant was issued for Jose Jacob’s arrest, and he was arrested by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office on March 28.
The Ocala Police Department is asking anyone with information about similar incidents involving Jose Jacob or who witnessed inappropriate conduct to contact them.
