Key Vista Nature Park, FL – On April 24, 2025, Pasco County Fire Rescue reported that the Baillies Bluff Wildfire in Key Vista Nature Park, Pasco County, has burned approximately 40 acres.
As of 3:30 PM, the fire is 30% contained, and a multi-agency response is ongoing. Baillies Bluff Road remains closed while first responders work on the scene.
Multiple agencies, including Pasco County Fire Rescue, Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Pasco County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources, and the Florida Forest Service – Withlacoochee Forestry Center, are responding to the fire.
Authorities have requested that the public avoid the area and refrain from flying drones, as they interfere with response operations, stating, “Please DO NOT fly drones in the area as it will interfere with response operations.”
No structures are in danger at this time.
The wildfire comes amid severe drought conditions across Florida, increasing fire risks.
“Florida had another dry week. Conditions in almost all of the state range from Abnormally Dry (D0) to Extreme Drought (D3),” the National Integrated Drought Information System posted on X.
“Some areas have precip[itation] deficits over 6” in the last 90 days. Little to no precip is expected for at least another week.”
