BEACH, FL — A second suspect linked to a series of robberies and thefts in Washington, D.C., including a robbery targeting Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, was arrested Sunday in Miami Beach, Florida, authorities announced.

Agents from the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. and Customs Enforcement (ICE), with critical support from the Miami Beach Police Department and ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations division, apprehended the individual early Sunday.

The suspect is believed to be a co-conspirator of the primary defendant in the D.C. spree.

Special Agent in Charge Rafael Barros of the U.S. Secret Service Miami Field Office praised the collaborative effort. “Public safety is strongest when built on trust and collaboration,” Barros said.

“We are grateful to the Miami Beach Police Department for their swift and outstanding assistance. After receiving information from Washington, officers quickly implemented targeted patrols and located the defendant, who was taken into custody without incident.”

The suspect is currently detained on an immigration hold as charges are finalized in coordination with the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C., the U.S. Secret Service, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.

“Thank you to @SecretService @ICEgov and our law enforcement partners for finding and arresting the criminal who stole my bag on Sunday as I shared a meal with my family at a Washington DC restaurant,” Noem posted on X.

“This individual is a career criminal who has been in our country illegally for years.

Unfortunately, so many families in this country have been made victims by crime, and that’s why President Trump is working every single day to make America safe and get these criminal aliens off of our streets.”
