Frito-Lay announced a voluntary recall on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, of a limited number of 13-ounce bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips due to the potential presence of undeclared milk.
The recall, affecting fewer than 1,300 bags, stems from a packaging mix-up that may have resulted in some bags containing nacho cheese-flavored tortilla chips, a product made with milk, instead of the intended yellow corn variety.
Milk is one of the nine major food allergens recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and its undeclared presence could pose a serious health risk to affected individuals.
The recalled products were sold in stores in 13 states (Ala., Fla., Ga., Ill., Ind., Ky., Miss., N.C., Ohio, S.C., Tenn., Va., W. Va.) and across digital channels since March 7.
“Unless a consumer has a dairy allergy or sensitivity to milk, this product is safe to consume,” PepsiCo stated.
