TAMPA, Florida – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in a bold theft of gold bars using a fraudulent ID.
The incident occurred on March 6, 2025, shortly after 10 a.m., in the 14900 block of Aire Place in Tampa.
According to investigators, the suspect approached a UPS driver and claimed ownership of a package. After presenting identification, which was later determined to be fake, the driver handed over the package containing gold bars. The suspect then fled the scene in a blue four-door vehicle.
HCSO detectives are now turning to the community for help in tracking down the individual responsible. “We need your help to identify this suspect and bring him to justice,” the Sheriff’s Office stated in a Facebook post.
