Nestlé USA has announced a voluntary recall of a limited number of Lean Cuisine and STOUFFER’S frozen meals due to the potential presence of wood-like material.
The recall affects specific batches produced between August 2024 and March 2025 and distributed to major U.S. retailers from September 2024 to March 2025.
The affected products include Lean Cuisine® Butternut Squash Ravioli, Lean Cuisine® Spinach Artichoke Ravioli, Lean Cuisine® Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry, and STOUFFER’S® Party Size Chicken Lasagna (96oz). No other Lean Cuisine® or STOUFFER’S® products are included in this recall.
The decision to recall these items comes after consumer reports of the issue, including one reported choking incident. Nestlé USA emphasized that the recall is limited to specific batch codes, which can be found on the side of the product packaging alongside the best-before date.
Consumers are urged to check their purchases against the following batch numbers and corresponding dates:
Nestlé USA advises consumers not to prepare or eat the recalled products and to return them to the point of purchase for a full refund or replacement.
For additional assistance, the company has provided a support line at (800) 681-1676, available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST.
“We are actively investigating the source of the wood-like material,” Nestlé USA stated.
“We are working with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on this recall and will cooperate with them fully.”
