ORLANDO, Florida — A cold front moving across Central Florida will spark a band of rain and embedded lightning storms on Monday, March 10, 2025, according to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center.
There is a Marginal Risk, or at least a 5% chance, for severe storms. The primary hazards from any strong storms today will be damaging wind gusts and large hail.
There is a very small chance for a brief tornado as well. Expect the band of rain and storms over the I-4 corridor this morning before moving toward the Atlantic Coast this afternoon.
A Wind Advisory will be in effect from 10 am to 7 pm today. Even outside of rain and storms, wind gusts from 25 to 35 mph are
forecast.
Storms that produce hailstones the size of quarters or larger can result in dents on cars, damage to roofs, break windows, and can be deadly to animals and people.
Large hailstones can fall at speeds faster than 100 mph.
