PALM CITY, Florida – A brush fire near 78th Avenue in Palm City has grown to 150 acres as of March 27, 2025, but is now 100% contained, according to Martin County Fire Rescue.
Initially reported at 60+ acres, the fire had spread west-southwest, prompting a response from multiple fire units, including tenders and brush trucks, with support from the Florida Forest Service and St. Lucie County Fire Rescue.
Defensive positions have protected at least one property, while crews tackled a spot fire near 84th Street. The Florida Forest Service deployed two bulldozers, with a third en route.
Fire crews, including two brush trucks and a tender, will stay overnight near the Stuart West community to monitor the blaze. Residents are urged to avoid the area and stay cautious due to ongoing emergency efforts.
