USF President Rhea Law to Step Down

, Florida  – Rhea F. Law, who served as the interim president of the University of (USF) since 2021, has announced her retirement.

Initially expected to serve for just a few months, Law’s tenure extended to over three years, during which she led the university to surpass its ambitious goals in academics, athletics, and community engagement. Her leadership has been widely praised for its transformative impact, with many expressing gratitude for her contributions.

“When I was first asked to serve as USF’s interim president in 2021, I thought it would only be for a few months to provide stability during a time of transition. I pledged to create a smooth glidepath for a new president to be well positioned for success,” Law stated in a  post on X.

“I never could have imagined where we would be three-and-a-half years later and all that we would accomplish. Together.”

A national search for her successor has begun, aiming to find someone who can continue USF’s upward trajectory. Law’s departure signifies the end of a significant chapter for USF, leaving a legacy of progress and high expectations for future leadership.
