Tesla Recalls Over 376,000 Vehicles Due to Power Steering Issue

Washington, D.C. – The National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a affecting 376,241 Tesla vehicles due to a potential power steering issue that may increase the risk of a crash.

The recall applies to certain 2023 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles running software versions prior to 2023.38.4. According to Tesla, an overstress condition on the printed circuit board for the electronic power steering assist may cause a loss of power steering when the vehicle stops and then accelerates again. This malfunction could lead to increased steering effort, particularly at low speeds, raising safety concerns.

To address the issue, Tesla has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update free of charge. Owners of affected vehicles will be notified via mail beginning March 25, 2025. For further assistance, Tesla customers can contact the company’s customer service at 1-877-798-3752, referencing recall number SB-25-00-004.
