JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Toyota has announced two major safety recalls affecting more than 147,000 vehicles in the United States, citing potential safety risks in select Toyota and Lexus models.
Seatbelt Recall: 41,000 Toyota Camry and Lexus NX/RX Vehicles Affected
One of the recalls involves approximately 41,000 vehicles, including certain 2025 model-year (MY) Toyota Camry and Lexus NX, as well as 2024-2025 MY Lexus RX vehicles. The issue stems from the second-row center seatbelt, which may have sustained damage during manufacturing. A weakened seatbelt may fail to meet strength requirements, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
To remedy the issue, Toyota and Lexus dealers will inspect the seatbelt webbing and replace the assembly if necessary, free of charge.
Brake Hose Recall: 106,000 Toyota Tacoma Trucks Affected
The second recall affects approximately 106,000 2024-2025 MY Toyota Tacoma 4-wheel drive trucks. These vehicles, equipped with 16-inch brakes and 17-inch Toyota wheels, could develop a brake fluid leak due to damage to the rear brake hoses. The issue arises when excessive mud and dirt build up inside the rear wheels, potentially leading to reduced braking performance and an increased risk of a crash.
As a solution, Toyota dealers will replace both rear brake hoses with improved parts at no cost to owners.
